Lake Superior - Photography by Travis Novitsky - Grand Portage, Minnesota : Photo Keywords : hollow rock : <font size="2">SUPERIOR SUMMER 8060 <i>"Summer's Eve at Hollow Rock"</i> As some of you may know, Hollow Rock is one of my favorite photographic subjects. I haven't done much shooting with it lately, though, as I have been working on other things. This photo is from July 16th, 2010. Sunset on that evening was rather uneventful, with very little color in the clouds. During the "magic hour" that follows sunset, however, it was a different story. The clouds were moving rather quickly and the direction of their movement really complemented the "classic" shooting angle of the rock that is shown here. Amazing things often happen after the sun goes down, and more often than not I've seen other photographers pack up their gear and leave as soon as the sun dips below the horizon.
