MOOSE 2295 "Sneaky Moose on the Pigeon River" On the morning of October 15, 2010 I had the good fortune to spend about 45 minutes in the company of this very curious Moose on the Pigeon River at Grand Portage State Park. We watched each other for a while from a distance, then I decided to head back to the park visitor center. She followed me cautiously as I made my way back to the trail. At one point I turned around to see her peeking around this corner of the river, which made for a terrific shot.

MOOSE 8819 "Teal Lake Moose" While on my way to work one day I had the opportunity to photograph this cow and young calf on Teal Lake. The white around the cow's neck is a radio collar. This moose is one of 9 that were collared by the Grand Portage Reservation in order to track their movements over the course of two years. The data gathered will provide information to the Reservation's Natural Resource department about moose habitat and activity patterns of the moose. The information will then be used to help manage Reservation lands for the benefit of moose.
